EVO announces games for its 2017 event

Evo has revealed eight of the nine games that will make up its massive 2017 fighting games tournament.

Street Fighter V, Smash Melee, Smash Wii U, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev. 2, Injustice 2, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution and King of Fighters XIV are the titles that have been confirmed for this year.

There will also be a charity fan vote to decide the ninth and final game for the tournament. Fans can vote for Mortal Kombat XL, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Skullgirls, Pokken Tournament, Killer Instinct, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, ARMS, Windjammers or Nidhogg to appear at the event by donating an amount to charity. The game that has the highest donation amount will appear at the event, with a bonus $10,000 added to the prize pool for the game. At the time of writing Pokken is winning by just over $100. Marvel vs Capcom and Killer Instinct are close behind with ARMS also being surprisingly popular.

Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Super Smash Bros for Wii U and the the fan vote choice will all feature on Sunday’s final day. This means that Smash Melee has been relegated to a Saturday slot, leaving a lot of people unhappy.
