T-Mobile becomes official data partners with TSM and Cloud9

Telecommunications giant T-Mobile has made waves this week, announcing Wednesday its first esports organisation sponsorship deals with Team SoloMid and Cloud9.

The company’s sponsorship will take the form of T-Mobile becoming the ‘official cellular data partner’ for both organisations, according to announcements from both TSM and Cloud9.

Cloud9’s announcement features a quote from CEO and founder Jack Etienne, who says: “At Cloud9, we’re always looking for partners who are going to elevate us to the next level and we’ve found just that. Partnering up with T-Mobile will allow us to work together on some really exciting projects that we can’t wait for the fans to see.” There’s no word on what these future opportunities could be at this point,

While these are T-Mobile’s first organisation sponsorship, they sponsored Twitch’s fighting game tournament at their E3 Twitch Esports Arena in Juny 2017, alongside several other competitions. They’re not alone in the Telecommunications space, either. Vodafone, Orange and several others have sponsorship deals with organisations, with the most popular being SK-Telecom, who have a sponsorship deal with SK-Telecom T1, one of the best League of Legends teams in the world.
