Team Leviathan returns to NA Dota 2 in post-international roster changes

The post-international roster shuffle, a yearly event as reliable as Christmas, is well underway, but it seems to have brought back an organisation that’s long been absent: Team Leviathan.

Team Leviathan was a well known North American team that last competed in 2016, failing to reach The International 2016’s regional qualifying stages. Team Leviathan were never the biggest name in NA Dota, but their return will be welcomed by many.

Andrew Jenkins announced the return in a post via Twitter. Jenkins will take the role of offlaner for the reformed team, and is one of the team’s two founder members. Jason Newsham, the other founder, is also returning to the team.

The pair are joined by Brian ‘BananaSlamJamma’ Canavan, Samuel ‘Noblewingz’ Anderson, and Scott ‘Slayer’ Palmer. The trio are newcomers to Team Leviathan, although Canavan and Palmer are known quantities in NA Dota 2.

Dot Esports points out that not only is Noblewingz not a known ‘face’ in the scene, but he’s also the team’s midlaner with an MMR of 5,100. This is quite low compared to the midlaners he’ll be playing against in the team’s future.
