William Hill to take bets on DreamHack Masters Las Vegas in the US

Bookmaker William Hill has announced that it will be taking bets on DreamHack Masters Las Vegas in Nevada this week.

William Hill’s Las Vegas division has already announced odds for the overall winner, with Astralis coming in as favourites at 3/1. Virtus pro come in a 7/2 while NaVi are at 5/1, more outside shots include OpTic at 16/1 and Gambit at 20/1.

This will only be the second eSports event to bet on in the US. With strict gambling laws across most of the country betting is usually straight up banned, however in Nevada if the Nevada Gaming Control Board approves an event it can be bet on. The only other event to be approved by the board was the Intel Extreme Masters Oakland last year.

The event itself kicks off later this week, with the finals taking place on Sunday. Sixteen of the best CS:GO teams in the world will battle it out for a share of the $450,000 prize pool.
