First Batman Arkham Knight PC patch hits but full fix "will take some time"

Rocksteady’s first attempt at fixing the troubled PC version of Batman Arkham Knight is now live, but users have been warned to expect a long wait until the title is back to full health.

A patch is available on Steam now that addresses a few things – chiefly the missing ambient occlusion and rain texture effects. This at least means those lucky few for whom the game is running smoothly can now enjoy a visual experience beyond that offered on consoles, thanks to the added Nvidia graphics features.

Also fixed are a couple of common crashes and an issue that caused Steam to re-download the game when verifying the integrity of the game cache.

However, there’s a long list of fixes that while on the way are still some way off.

These include menu support for frame rates above 30 fps, the low resolution texture bug, improved in-game performance, the significant RAM and VRAM leakage problems and support for SLI and Crossfire.

Rocksteady is leading our team of developers and partners as we work on the PC performance issues that players have been encountering,” Warner Bros said.

The work is significant and while we are making good progress on improving performance, it will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place.”
