Former The Last Guardian artist part of new studio Friend & Foe

A game artist who has worked on Sony’s troubled The Last Guardian since its inception is one of a gang of developers behind new indie studio Friend & Foe.

The outfit is based in Tokyo and includes artist Rui Guerreiro, Ivar Dahlberg, Rasmus Deguchi, Thomas Lilja and Victor Santaquiteria.

Between them their previous titles includes the likes of Battlefield 3, Killzone and Bionic Commando.

The studio currently has two titles in development – PC title Vane and iOS outing Dangerous Men. Vane is an open-world adventure game that focuses on atmosphere and exploration while Dangerous Men is an arcade action game based on ‘80s cop movies.

We’ve set up shop in lovely Tokyo to put our years of experience and complaining to the test – going full indie and bringing our own games to the world,” the studio website says.

We believe in extremely nimble game development, with self-funding and self-publishing our titles as far as possible. As many before us we grew tired of working for big companies and chose instead to bet it all on pooling our talents and set out on the great indie adventure we always wanted.”
