Gran Turismo 6 for PS3 listed by retailer

Fresh evidence has emerged suggesting that Gran Turismo 6 is PS3 bound.

IGN spotted a now-removed listing for the game on US electricals retailer Newegg, naming PS3 as the host platform.

Gran Turismo 6 was first name-dropped by Polyphony Digital guru Kazunori Yamauchi as long ago as November 2010. The game was then openly discussed in July of last year, leading many to the natural conclusion that it was PS4 bound.

However, in February of this year senior Sony exec Michael Denny seemed to accidentally confirm the racer as being a PS3 title.

It might seem odd for Sony to release the game on PS3 when PS4 is expected to be with us in as little as six to eight months, but Sony is doing a stellar job of supporting its current machine.

PS3’s release schedule for 2013 includes the likes of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us and Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls, as well as digital release such as Rain and Wonderbook outing Digg’s Nightcrawler.
