Grand Theft Auto 5 gets 17th September release date; retail marketing begins

As we’ve now come to expect from Rockstar Games’ big releases, Grand Theft Auto 5 has been delayed from its earlier spring 2013 release window, and now has a firm 17th Septmeber release date.

This date, however, only applies to the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of GTA V; there’s no telling when the as-yet-unannounced PC version will hit shelves.

Rockstar apologised for the delay on its official websiteamidst a barrage of negative reactions from fans, but added that the extra time was necessary to add the required polish to the game.

Meanwhile, promotional box packs for GTA V has been making their way onto retail store shelves across India as preorders get underway.

The game’s Indian distributor, E-xpress Interactive, is yet to announce specific preorder incentives for GTA V though, which will be done closer to release.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is, however, part of E-xpress’ eight-game preorder promotion, where buyers stand a chance to win a PS3 or Xbox 360.
