Grand Theft Auto V is No.1 in the UK AGAIN

Well over three years since its release and Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V is once again top of the UK charts.

This is the tenth time that the UK-made crime blockbuster has been No.1 in the UK. The last time the smash hit was was the top dog was 23 weeks ago in the week ending August 6th.

Rockstar’s game saw a three per cent rise in sales this week. In December, the title sailed past 6m boxed sales, making it the game to most contribute to the British economy ever.

In spending ten weeks at the top, Grand Theft Auto V joins a select club of titles that have managed this feat – one of which is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Last week’s No.1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, slips to second place with sales taking a 53 per cent jump. Last week was the shooter’s eighth time at the top spot, placing it one week from matching Modern Warfare 2’s nine-week run at No.1.

FIFA 17 falls one place to No.3, with a 39 per cent sales dip. With a lack of new releases, the Top 40 remains much the same as before.

Below is the software Top Ten for the week ending January 14th:

1. Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar
2. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Activision
3. FIFA 17, EA
4. Battlefield 1, EA
5. Forza Horizon 3, Microsoft
6. Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft
