Konami cuts Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes price

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has received a price cut… before it has even been released.

On PS4 and Xbox One the game was originally priced at 39.99 for the physical version and 29.99 for the digital. On PS3 and Xbox 360 the price was 29.99 for physical and 19.99 for digital.

Now the physical next-gen versions have been reduced to 29.99, although all other pricing remains the same.

"With the new pricing set for Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, Konami aims to provide as many people as possible an opportunity to experience Kojima Productions’ new Fox Engine and the first instalment in the two-part Metal Gear Solid 5 experience," Konami said in a statement reported by Eurogamer.

The move comes as a response to concerns surrounding the length of the game, whose single player component can be completed in around two hours – proving all objectives outside the main narrative are ignored.
