Levine still trying to get BioShock Vita greenlit

BioShock Vita could still happen… providing Sony gives the project the thumbs up.

Announced in summer 2011, BioShock on Vita has, as of February this year, still not entered production. But Irrational Games dev Ken Levine says it’s not for want of trying.

I am literally trying to make a match between the parties [Sony and Irrational],” he told Kotaku. They have to agree and it has to be a business deal. I’ve been trying to do that for a very long time. I’ve still very much engaged in that. I can’t personally greenlight the thing myself.

I have conversations. I’ve talked to all the parties in the past couple of weeks.”

How long this situation can persevere – and indeed, how long a triple-A Vita game remains a viable prospect – is certainly up for debate. It’s safe to say that if this game hopes for a realistic chance of arriving a deal needs to be struck sooner rather than later.
