Minecraft for PS4 and Vita targeting Q2/Q3 release; Save transfers planned

The PS4 and Vita versions of Minecraft could be with us in just a few weeks.

Responding to questions on the PlayStation Blog, Mojang’s Owen Hill said that the company is aiming for Q2/Q3” for both the PS4 and Vita versions of the hit title.

Added Hill: The plan is to enable users to transfer from PS3 to PS4. We’re still working out how it’ll work with the Vita version. We’ll have more news on cross-buy/upgrade options soon. I understand that the wait is frustrating, but we don’t want to make false promises.”

He also added that the Vita version may be discounted for current owners of the game on PS3 if cross-buy is not offered.

Mojang last week confirmed a retail release for the game on PS3. It was released digitally on PS3 in January.
