New Titanfall games announced… for smartphones

Developer Respawn has teamed up with Nexon to produce several” new smartphone and tablet titles set in the Titanfall universe.

As part of the deal both companies have invested in Los Angeles based mobile developer Particle City, which has been founded by Respawn’s Vince Zampella. The agreement is described as a multi-game, multi-year partnership” that will see Nexon publish the first game on iOS and Android in 2016.

As a player and fan of Titanfall I am delighted to be working with the talented team at Respawn to bring the world of Titanfall to mobile and tablet,” Nexon president and CEO Owen Mahoney said.

Working closely with our partners at Respawn and Particle City we intend to build on the original game’s success and introduce millions of mobile gamers to the rich Titanfall universe.”

Respawn’s Zampella added: Our partnership with Nexon is momentous for many reasons. Nexon’s unrivalled publishing network and free-to-play expertise will allow Titanfall to reach new global audiences.

And with Particle City, we are closely collaborating to create all-new standalone games with original gameplay experiences that expand the Titanfall universe to players everywhere.”

Nexon is currently working on a F2P version of Titanfall on PC for the Asian market.

We’re yet to hear any details about the in-development Titanfall 2 for consoles and PC, however. EA has been confirmed as the publisher, and we know the game will no longer be an Xbox console exclusive, but we’re yet to be given any idea about when it may be released.
