MIDWAY GAMERS DAY 08: TNA Impact

Midway opened its Gamers’ Day presentations in Las Vegas by showing off wrestling title TNA Impact – which was developed using Epic’s Unreal Engine.

The publisher announced that the title is due for release in the summer on PS3, PS2, Wii and Xbox 360.

Introduced by US sports TV presenter Jeremy Borash, the game contains over ten modes, many of which will be familiar to fans of the WWE rival.

These include Mayhem and Tag Team, but it was the notorious Ultimate X mode – which sees wrestlers trying to get their hands on a big red X hanging above the ring – which got most exposure on stage.

TnA wrestlers such as Samoa Joe joined Borash to talk up the game, which also includes a feature that gives players points to unlock clothes and more goodies when they pull off special moves.

Borash introduced the game and the presentation with what he called his six favourite words: ”Las Vegas, video games and free beer”.

The publisher also took the opportunity to give the crowd an exclusive peek at NBA Ballers: Chosen One. Featuring Public Enemy’s Chuck D as a presenter, the title is due for release in the next few weeks.
