Massive Burnout update dated

UK developer Criterion has announced on the

US PlayStation blog

that a massive update is to be made available to Xbox 360 and PS3 owners of Burnout Paradise free of charge this Thursday.

The standout feature is the addition of bikes to the game, opening up a brand new licence path to players. Also included is a brand new 24 hour day and night cycle, with the time of day impacting on the levels of traffic and the events available.

Other additions include dynamic weather, 38 new race events and 70 extra Freeburn challenges.

The firm has also promised that it will soon be announcing details of its planned Trophy update for the game for PS3 owners.
