New Play Control range leads Nintendo’s Q1 line-up

Nintendo has revealed its Q1 line-up for 2009, with the launch of its New Play Control! range in February updating classic GameCube titles for Wii.

Starting with Pikmin on February 6th, this series of games brings key titles from the Wii’s predecessor to Nintendo’s current bestselling console, now presented in widescreen and given brand new control systems worked around the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

The series was announced at Nintendo’s Fall Media Summit, and will also include Mario Power Tennis – which arrives in March – as well as Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. No dates have been announced for the rest of the range yet.

The DS will see more diverse software in the early months of 2009, including detective game Mystery Case Files: Millionheir and self-improvement title Walk with me! Do you know your walking routine?
