Yakuza 5 announced

Sega has announced it is currently working on the fifth instalment in its popular Yakuza series.

The revelation was made during a Tokyo press conference to mark the imminent launch of Yakuza 4, according to Andiasang.

The game was initially presented as Project K by the series director Toshihiro Nagoshi, before teaser images depicted the familiar neon entrance sign from the franchise’s fictional Kamurocho district.

The game’s intended platform and release date have yet to be announced.

While Japan is soon to enjoy Yakuza 4, UK PS3 owners have only just received the third entry in the series, which was released on Friday. It debuted at No.24 in the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.
