UK CHARTS: Just Dance back at the top

As the industry’s many triple-A action titles vied for retail success over Easter, it’s Ubisoft’s Wii-only Just Dance that has emerged as the holiday champion by returning to the top spot in the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

In doing so it knocks last week’s number one, Square Enix’s Just Cause 2, down one place ahead of EA’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which shows no sign of relinquishing its top three position.

Hot on its heels, however, is Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which manages to pass Nintendo’s recently released Pokemon SoulSilver, leaving it languishing in fifth spot. Its sister release HeartGold sits in seventh.

Elsewhere in the Top 40, Sony’s God of War III drops from seventh to number 14 and Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII drops seven places to 15th. Also falling is THQ’s Metro 2033, which drops 18 places to number 32.

Here’s the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 10 in full (for the week ending April 3rd):
1. Just Dance (Ubisoft)
2. Just Cause 2 (Square Enix)
3. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (EA)
4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
5. Pokemon SoulSilver (Nintendo)
6. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)
7. Pokemon HeartGold (Nintendo)
8. FIFA 10 (EA)
9. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
10. New Super Mario Bros Wii (Nintendo)
