E3 2010: Battle Tag announced

Ubisoft has announced Battle Tag, a unique title that lets players engage in real-world shoot-outs.

The game comes bundled with a range of peripherals, including a sensor harness, laser guns and ammo refill packs – similar to those found in ‘90s laser tag games.

Battle Tag uses the console as a hub that lets players organise teams, sync their sensors, define match parameters and, of course, tally the scores. Two game modes were demonstrated during Ubisoft’s E3 press conference: a standard deathmatch and a tagging race.

The publisher didn’t detail pricing or platform, but confirmed that the standard bundle would include two guns, four ammo packs, one syncing connector and two harnesses.

The game is due for release this autumn.
