Segerstrale joins LoveFilm board

European film and games rental giant LoveFilm has announced the appointment of Kristian Segerstrale as a non-executive director.

Segerstrale is the CEO and co-founder of casual games specialist Playfish, which was snapped up by EA last year for around $250m. He also spent six years as a senior executive at portable gaming specialist Glu Mobile.

Also joining the company as non-executive director is Roland Steindorf, an experienced figure in the German broadband and media sectors.

LoveFilm is a pioneer in the shift of media from physical products to digital services,” Segerstrale stated.

They are in the midst of a transformational growth opportunity in home entertainment through new distribution and consumption models similar to that taking place in computer games.
