Activision readies toy-game crossover

While Activision may be dropping the likes of Guitar Hero and True Crime, the publisher still has a few new tricks up its sleeve.

The company’s latest financial report reveals it is working on an innovative new universe with broad appeal that will be revealed at Toy Fair later this week” that will bring the world of toys, video games and the Internet together in an unprecedented way”.

Whether this ‘new universe’ will be brought to consumers as is a single video game or an entire toy line-up remains to be seen, but MCV expects more solid details to be announced tomorrow.

The mysterious new project was highlighted as one of the key opportunities facing Activision, alongside Blizzard’s future projects, the new Bungie property and an online Call of Duty title.
