R4 already working on 3DS

Having enjoyed a tremendous launch in Japan over the weekend, Nintendo’s 3DS has already received its first bit of bad news – hackers have got the R4 piracy device up and running on the handheld.

Destructoid reports that the internet is already alight with examples of Japanese users running illegal games on the machine using to age-old DS flash card.

Fortunately, the R4 has so far only enabled the use of pirated DS software. 3DS games remain untracked for the time being.

Last year THQ’s executive VP of global publishing Ian Curran claimed that Nintendo’s anti-piracy measures in the 3DS should prove more resilient than those found in the DS.
