Hacker group ‘Anonymous’ targets Sony

Notorious hacker group Anonymous has publicly threatened Sony, after the firm launched legal action against two file sharers in the US.

The two hackers, called GeoHot and Graf_Chokolo, are being sued for sharing jail broken PS3 codes

It is the latest move in Operation Payback, the organisation’s mission to retaliate to what it sees as unjustified crackdowns of file sharers.

An announcement on Anonymous’ blog reads:

"Congratulations, Sony. You have now received the undivided attention of Anonymous. Your recent legal action against our fellow hackers, GeoHot and Graf_Chokolo, has not only alarmed us, it has been deemed wholly unforgivable.’
