Sony NGP to be renamed Vita?

Sony’s Next Generation Portable – or NGP – is looking like it could be renamed PS Vita.

Alleged images of a pamphlet show the device with a ‘PS Vita’ logo at the bottom of the console, while branding on the leaflet also carries the new name, reports Games Pundit.

The domain names psvita.com and vita.scedev.com have also been discovered, further hinting at the possibility of a new name for NGP.

The handheld console is Sony’s successor to the PSP, and has thus also been branded PSP2, but Sony named it NGP when it was officially unveiled earlier this year.

NGP will adopt a physical flash card system as opposed to a disc reader. Gamers will be able to download games to the device or buy game cards in stores.

The device is expected to arrive in November this year.
