Gaikai signs Walmart deal

Gaikai has joined forces with the world’s largest retailer to bring its games streaming service to Walmart.com.

The new Game Center section of Walmart’s website now allows users to play PC titles using Gaikai’s service for free, according to VentureBeat. If they like the game, they can then purchase it with just a few clicks.

Over the next 12 months, when people see a video game on TV and want to try it out, they can be sure the fastest way will be on Walmart’s website,” said Gaikai chief executive David Perry.

It’s an exciting time and you’ll see more sites around the world doing these stealth launches with us.”

Gaikai is currently in talks with 20 games publishers to add more games to its cloud streaming offering. It has already signed a deal with Electronic Arts, granting users access to games such as Dead Space 2.
