Dignitas CS:GO team departs organisation

The team Dignitas CS:GO team has left the organisation, despite having one of the best few months in the team’s history.

The announcement stated that both parties mutually agreed to not renew contracts, meaning that once the contracts expire, presumably at the end of the year, the team of Rene ‘cajunb’ Borg, Kristian ‘k0nfig’ Wienecke, Mathias ‘MSL’ Lauridsen, Ruben ‘rubino’ Villarroel, Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif and Casper ‘Ruggah’ Due will be free agents. They will be sticking together as a team and will still compete at the upcoming ELEAGUE Major.

Dignitas will now look to build a new team based in North America.

“Team Dignitas and the Philadelphia 76ers are committed to building our next elite, international Counter Strike: Global Offensive team based in North America with the goal of dominating the global competitive gaming landscape,” said the organisation. “Team Dignitas aspires to lead the eSports industry in player recruitment and development; we are confident our fans will continue to be excited by our future player and personnel announcements.”

In recent months the Dignitas team has been considered one of the best in the world. They won EPICENTER just a few weeks back and over the weekend qualified for the Major. This will be a big blow for Dignitas.
