SONY: 3D PlayStation monitor announced

One of the more intriguing announcements to emerge from Sony’s E3 press briefing was the reveal of a brand new PlayStation branded 3D monitor.

The 24-inch screen comes bundled with cables, a pair of branded 3D glasses and a copy of Resistance 3 and will retail for $499. The PS glasses will also be available for $70 a shot.

Interestingly, the screen offers more than just 3D – it also allows two players to see separate images. Effectively, this allows for competitive split-screen gaming without the split-screen. Both players see the full image.

Also crammed into the chassis is 2.1 stereo sound and a subwoofer, as well as two HDMI ports and component in. Blu-ray remote support is also included.
