Sony reintroduces EyeToy for PS2 in India

Sony has relaunched the EyeToy motion gaming camera for the Playstation 2 in India via a new console bundle.

The new bundle will include the PS2 console, an EyeToy camera as well as an EyeToy game – EyeToy: Play 3 and will be priced at Rs 5,990 – the same as past console-game bundles. Sony is targetting kids between the ages of 8 and 12 with this bundle.

To support the relaunch, Sony will also introduce a series of EyeToy games priced at Rs 499.

The PS2 is the highest selling game console in India. With its low price and cheaper games (some locally developed and based on Indian themes), the PS2 is positioned as an entry level console targeted mainly at those who are new to gaming in India’s smaller towns and cities.
