Standalone DayZ hits 1m downloads within a month

It’s finally done it – the standalone version of DayZ has now passed the 1m sales milestone.

The achievement was confirmed by Bohemia Interactive CEO and co-founder Marek Špan?l.

The game was released on December 17th and sold 172,500 copies in its first 24 hours on Steam. By the end of its first week sales had reached 400,000 and by January 4th that had climbed to 800,000.

The most recently released sales number was 875,000, as of January 7th.

Creator Dean Hall told MCV last week that, despite having initially only hoped for 250k sales in the game’s first three months, the game now looked likely to hit one million sales within its first month.
