VIDEO: Switch gets first public demo on Jimmy Fallon Show

Nintendo thrust the Switch into the limelight last night by presenting the console’s first public gameplay demonstration on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

After showing off upcoming iOS platformer Super Mario Run, Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime then lifted the lid of a question mark block to reveal the company’s new machine. He then proceeded to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild live in front of the studio audience.

This could well be the last airing the hardware gets before its hands-on sessions with journalists on January 12th.

That wasn’t where the fun ended, however. Viewers were also treated to the delight of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto playing a version of the Mario theme tune with the show’s house band The Roots.
