Watch Dogs dev dismisses controversial PC game specs

The ‘leaked’ specs for the PC versions of Watch Dogs that appeared online yesterday were not official, one of the game’s developers has stated.

These are not official configs,” graphics technical director Sebastien Viard said on Twitter. The real specs out soon and will be lower than [these] ones.”

Much of the PC games fraternity were surprised yesterday when the aforementioned specs seemed to suggest the game would require a CPU that is vastly more powerful than those found in next-gen consoles.

Specifically, the Ultra requirements seemed astronomical, especially when compared to its fairly moderate GPU needs.

Interestingly, EA’s recently released Battlefield 4 beta is a game that is supposedly optimised for next-gen-like eight core processors yet early benchmarks show that it performs far better one Intel’s more powerful range of quad-core chips.
