EA: MMA 2 could be best fighter

EA Canada believes a sequel to EA Sports MMA could become the industry’s best fighting game.

Fight Night Champion producer Mike Mahar also believes the original didn’t perform as well as it deserved to.

I hope [we’ll see a sequel] – I really think that the sport is still blossoming, it’s extremely popular but I don’t think it’s hit the peak yet,” he told CVG.

The guys that made the game did a fantastic job and I think it’s a far better game than it got rated.

I think we’ll stick around the genre and the next time we make a game, if they make another MMA game soon, it’ll be bigger and better. It will be undeniable what the best fighting game is for sure.”

EA MMA’s producer, Jeff Ecker, previously said that a sequel to the game will not be a case of if” but when”.

EA Sports MMA went on sale last October on Xbox 360 and PS3. Other mixed martial art game franchises include THQ’s UFC Undisputed and 505 Games’ upcoming MMA Supremacy.
