Two-month TV campaign for LBP2

Sony has launched a mammoth marketing campaign for its acclaimed release, LittleBigPlanet 2.

Ads are appearing in film breaks on Five, Fiver and Five USA and will run for two weeks, while sponsorship will continue for two months.

Sony is also launching its own LittleBigPlanet online hub where every level will get its own web page, and users will be able to queue up new worlds to download.

Competitions will run on YouTube and the PlayStation Blog to drive further interest.

The news comes after LittleBigPlanet 2 received positive reviews. The platformer has a Metacritic score of 92 per cent.

Sony’s UK Marlene Fitzsimmons told MCV: LittleBigPlanet 2 has a huge terrestrial TV sponsorship campaign which allows us to showcase the breadth of content the game has to offer, while delivering frequency and reach to a broad audience.

LittleBigPlanet was and continues to be a massive success with the community consuming paid-for and free downloadable content.

We anticipate the sequel to build on this past success and be bigger than ever.”
