Vanquish set for winter release

Upcoming third-person shooter Vanquish has been scheduled for a winter release in Japan.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 title, produced by Platinum Games of Bayonetta and Mad World fame, should hit the UK in December or the first few months of 2011.

Vanquish’s director Shinji Mikami said it will not be a normal” shooter, in an interview with Japanese games magazine Famitsu.

The game will emphasise speed and fast-paced action. It will be set in the future and revolve around a war between Russia and America.

Mikami was responsible for creating the Resident Evil franchise.
