Resident Evil 5: Directorâ??s Cut to integrate Sony's new motion controller

Capcom renovates Resi 5 with PS3 motion-control

Capcom has been working with Sony in creating a motion-control edition of Resident Evil 5 for the PS3, Joystiq reports.

Resident Evil 5: Director’s Cut will be fully compatible with the PS3 motion controller while, in typical Capcom fashion, the game itself will be peppered with various tweaks and bonus content.

The announcement was made at the 2009 Tokyo Game Show, which, elsewhere, revealed Media Molecule staff playing LittleBigPlanet with the PS3 motion controller. No plans for a motion-controlled LBP game were formally announced.

This is not the first time Capcom has reformed its older Resident Evil titles for new consoles.

The company has released a number of GameCube remakes of the PlayStation originals, while a motion-control edition of Resident Evil 4 was released for Nintendo’s Wii.
