360 Arcade Starter Kit revealed

Ahead of the release of the New Xbox Experience next month, Microsoft has lifted the lid on a new Starter Pack designed to get owners of the base model Xbox 360 Arcade console online and fully Live-integrated.

CVG reports that Arcade or Core owners are already able to get online, but the lack of a hard drive on their machine means that downloading content is difficult – particularly as the NXE requires 128MB of storage to operate.

This new pack includes a 60GB HDD, headset, Ethernet cable and three month Xbox Live Gold subscription. It will be released in North America on November 4th and cost $99 – no European details have been announced as of yet.

Microsoft has previously announced plans to offer some users a free memory upgrade. These moves comes as the platform holder further drives the online elements of its console, which will soon include HD film streaming, a Mii-like avatar system and a network-wide quiz show format.
