GAME: We dont want a price war

Game Group CEO Lisa Morgan has ruled out any possibility of a ‘price war’ with supermarkets and online retailers this year.

Speaking to financial news site Cantos, Morgan said that GAME was comfortable with the competitive marketplace it operated in – and that potentially damaging cost-cutting "would not be in the interests of anyone”.

When asked, Are you expecting a price war?”, Morgan replied:

Well, no – as I said earlier, we’re already trading in what is a competitive marketplace. And we don’t feel a price war is in the interests of anyone.”

Morgan was speaking after reporting GAME’s hugely successful full-year financial results this morning, which revealed a year-on-year pre-tax profits jump of 156 per cent.
