Rock Band Wii details emerge

EA and MTV Games have revealed details for the upcoming Wii version of Rock Band, which was

first announced

by CEO John Riccitiello during EA’s third-quarter conference call in February.

The game is set to feature 63 songs, and will be available in the US on June 22nd – along with drums, microphone and wireless guitar – for a suggested retail price of $169.99.

Despite this, the Wii version of the game will not support online multiplayer, and gamer’s won’t be able to download additional songs.

"The Wii version still contains the robust four-player band experience and all the fun at the core of other versions of Rock Band," said EA in a statement.

"However, because the Wii’s online capabilities and potential have yet to be fully realised, we wanted to wait before we explored online functionality for Rock Band to ensure that players get the high-quality of online performance they’ve come to expect."
