Bit Bot, the indie multimedia studio behind a growing slate of games, films, comics, and consumer products, today announced a major expansion of its leadership team, bringing in top-tier talent from some of the most successful franchises in gaming entertainment. The move underscores the company’s continued growth and its commitment to developing bold, original intellectual property.
Leading the announcement is the appointment of Frank O’Connor as Bit Bot’s new Creative Director. Known for his role as Franchise Development Director for the Halo series, O’Connor started working on Halo with Bungie during the development of the groundbreaking Halo 2 and stayed with the series through Halo Infinite with 343 Industries. O’Connor brings almost two decades of experience in worldbuilding, franchise development, and AAA production to Bit Bot. His experience also includes work on animation, comic books, live-action television, and Microsoft’s Perfect Dark project with Crystal Dynamics.

In his new role, O’Connor will spearhead Bit Bot’s creative vision, guiding the studio’s expansion into new original properties while elevating its storytelling and gameplay ambitions.
“I’m delighted to become part of a small, focused and agile team—to help grow the studio and focus on telling cool stories, build captivating worlds and raise the quality bar for the portfolio of original and licensed projects Bit Bot has waiting in the wings,” O’Connor said. “The industry is changing, and I think Bit Bot’s commitment to fun, to originality, and to making its games and projects resonate with new and nostalgic audiences alike is a breath of fresh air.”
Accompanying O’Connor is Brian Ullrich, who joins Bit Bot as Studio General Manager. Ullrich brings extensive leadership experience from his work across a variety of video game companies, including Nintendo, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Kixeye, and Realtime Worlds, with more than 30 shipped titles spanning console, PC, mobile, MMO, and free-to-play platforms.
“I’m excited to bring AAA expertise to Bit Bot as the team continues to grow,” said Ullrich. “Working with the team to expand the studio’s portfolio and develop new original IP has already been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I can’t wait for fans to see what we’ve been working on.”
Further strengthening its creative bench, Bit Bot has also brought on a group of high-profile advisors, including Brent Friedman, whose credits include Star Wars, Halo, Call of Duty, Resident Evil, and Destiny; Tony Harman, known for his work on Donkey Kong Country, Grand Theft Auto, Crackdown, and All Points Bulletin; and Wyeth Ridgway, who has contributed to franchises such as Star Trek, South Park, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
This strategic expansion positions Bit Bot to scale its development capabilities while continuing to bridge storytelling across interactive and linear media. With a new focus on original IP and cross-platform experiences, the company is poised to enter its next phase of growth with a strengthened leadership team and a clear creative mandate.
