Former Sega Europe COO and president, Jurgen Post, has joined Chinese internet giant Tencent.

Post started his new role with Tencent in July as president of international partnerships for Europe. Post has been in senior positions within the games industry for the last 11 years, joining Sega in 2006 following previous marketing and managerial positions at Sony. He was a marketing director for the company during the EU release of the PlayStation console.

Earlier this week, game developer and Animation studio, Milky Tea received investment from Tencent and late last week, Elite Dangerous developer Frontier sold a 9 per cent stake to the Chinese company. Tencent also has an investment in other Western game companies including Epic Games, Activision Blizzard and Riot Games, which all have some presence in the Europe.
