Audio designers, firms and educational partners required to pass Wwise-101 to be listed in the Creators Directory

Audiokinectic launches outsourcing network to pair up devs and audio experts

Game audio tools firm Audiokinectic has launched a new online network to capitalise on the sector’s prominent outsourcing community.

Creators Directory is designed as a portal for developers, audio designers, audio production firms and educational figures such as tutors and schools to hook up and work together.

All of those listed on the service are required to pass Audiokinetic’s Wwise-101 online certification, which comprises seven lessons and seven quizzes, followed by an exam with a pass mark of 90 per cent. Only one member of a company needs to pass the free certification to allow access to the directory.

In addition, those working in education need to be licensed by Audiokinectic to appear on the network. The company is offering a four-day ‘train-the-trainer’ course to encourage more teachers to become licensed and listed, although those taking part must have completed the Wwise-101 course beforehand.

Announcing the directory, Audiokinect described audio as “the most outsourced service in the gaming and interactive media industries”, adding that its “goal is to provide content creators and service providers with international-scale visibility on a platform that simplifies the discovery process for developers and content providers”.
