Rocket League physical release coming from 505 Games

505 Games has signed up as the exclusive worldwide publishing partner for the physical version of Psyonix’s Rocket League.

A Collector’s Edition of the game will be released on PS4 and Xbox One in Q3 2016. The game launched digitally on PS4 and PC last July and arrived on Xbox One last month. Sales to date are approaching 4m units, with over 12m players registered worldwide.

The physical release will include the game’s three major content packs – Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle Cars and Chaos Run, along with some other yet-to-be-detailed exclusives.

We are honoured and excited to help Psyonix bring Rocket League: Collector’s Edition to a whole new audience,” 505 president Ian Howe said. As big as Rocket League has become, both 505 Games and Psyonix believe that there is still a significant untapped segment of the gaming audience who become aware of products through physical retail."

Psynonix CEO Dave Hagewood added: "505 Games are a proven entity in taking digital brands like Terraria and PAYDAY, and breaking them out through their long-established retail partnerships and on-the-ground expertise to a whole new consumer-base worldwide."
