BioShock 2 design head joins Double Fine as lead Psychonauts 2 designer

The former designer director for 2K Marin and Harmonix is to help guide the creation of Psychonauts 2.

Zak McClendon headed up development on 2K’s 2010 BioShock sequel, as well as 2013’s The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, a third-person shooter spin-off of the classic sci-fi strategy series.

Following his time at 2K, McClendon joined Harmonix for a little over a year-and-a-half, working on Rock Band 4 as lead designer.

Since November 2014, he had been working in a freelance capacity.

Now, he joins Double Fine as lead designer on its follow-up to Psychonauts, which raised more than $3.8 million on equity share crowdfunding platform Fig.
