URLs from Internet Archives can be used to embed playable titles

You can now play classic games through Twitter

Twitter users have discovered that playable classic MS-DOS games can now be embedded into Tweets.

It follows the release of an library of 2,604 MS-DOS games by the Internet Archive that can be accessed for free. Titles include Prince of Persia, Wolfenstein 3D, SimCity and Super Street Fighter II.

Using links from the website, users can simply copy the URL from a game on the archive and paste it into their Tweet.

It remains to be seen whether all the games listed will still be available in the long-term, as some titles are still being sold by their IP owners.
