Rovio’s games head Laes leaves company – report

Angry Birds studio Rovio has reportedly parted ways with its chief of games, Jami Laes.

Reuters reports on the departure from the Finland-based firm, adding that Laes has plans to form his own start-up.

Rovio has yet to provide any official release on the news, and representatives have thus far declined to comment on the story.

The company was hit by layoffs this past December that forced the closure of its Tampere studio and cut 110 jobs – MCV previously touched on what such a move could mean for the mobile market in general.
