Four licences available to developers depending on project type and team size

Texture streaming tech Granite for Unity heads into public beta

A public beta has opened for a Unity plug-in of Graphine’s texture streaming and compression tool Granite.

Four Granite for Unity licences are available, including Lite, Viz, Indie and Team, the latter for larger development studios.

Standard costs start from between $23 to $87 a month, though the cost of the Team package is not listed. Discounts are currently available on each tier.

“Unity 3D is a great tool that has been widely adopted by the game and 3D visualisation industries because of its accessibility,” said Graphine CEO Aljosha Demeulemeester.

“With the seat-based licenses we offer a model that’s tailored to the engine and that scales perfectly with the projects and team sizes of Unity’s wide variety of users. We’ve now made fine-grained texture streaming more accessible than ever. Now we offer a version of Granite for Unity suited to every developer."
