O2 could grab Amazon Fire Phone exclusivity in the UK

The Amazon Fire Phone may only be available via O2 in the UK.

That’s according to The Financial Times, which says that Amazon is in advanced talks” with O2. If true, the agreement would mirror that which in the US saw Fire Phone available only through AT&T.

Regardless, Fire Phone would very likely also be available through Amazon directly, although possibly with an O2 contract.

O2 of course was for a period the only stockist of the iPhone for a period after its launch in 2007. Amazon, meanwhile, already has an agreement in place with Vodafone to supply mobile tariffs for its Kindle range.

Reports last month suggested that launch sales of the Fire Phone in the US have been extremely low.
