CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson aims to 'combine and simplify' business

CCP closes San Francisco office as key execs leave

Eve Online developer CCP has closed its San Francisco office.

Chief financial officer Joseph Gallo and chief marketing officer David Reid have also left the company.

Studio CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson said the departures and closure were part of efforts to “combine and simplify” the business.

Gallo had been at the company for five years after joining in 2009, while Reid joined the studio from Trion Worlds just under three years ago.

Revenues for CCP in the first half of 2014 fell slightly to 36.5m, compared to 36.7m in the same period last year.

It noted however that the cancellation of long in-development MMO World of Darkness has resulted in considerable costs due to termination provisions, depreciation and write-downs of certain assets.

Following the game’s cancellation, CCP has said it will focus solely on the Eve universe.
