Messi given FIFA 15 cover star role

World Cup Golden Ball winner Lionel Messi has unsurprisingly been named as the global cover star of FIFA 15.

He’ll likely be joined in the UK by a couple of others who are yet to be named. We’d vote for Rickie Lambert and Emile Heskey, although arguably Wayne Rooney is a better bet alongside possibly an up and comer like 30m Man Uts newbie Luke Shaw.

Messi was awarded the Golden Ball award at the World Cup, recognising him as apparently the tournament’s best player, although the iconic player was unable to shine in Argentina’s 1-0 defeat to Germany in the final.

Colombia and AS Monaco striker James Rodriguez claimed the Golden Boot with six tournament goals.
