Further changes at Last of Us developer as Jonathan Cooper takes animation role

Ubisoft Montreal animation director heads to Naughty Dog

Ubisoft Montreal animation director Jonathan Cooper has joined Naughty Dog.

As spotted on LinkedIn by Game Informer, Cooper left the publisher in February and has since taken up the role of animator at the Uncharted and Last of Us developer.

The ex-Ubisoft employee had previously worked on Assassin’s Creed III and another unannounced project as animation director.

Cooper has also worked as lead animator on Mass Effect 1 and 2 and Deus Ex Human Revolution, the latter during pre-production.

The news comes after a spate of high profile departures from Naughty Dog in recent months that includes Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig, Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond, lead character artist Michael Knowland and Last of Us lead artist Nathan Wells.
